Always In Reach is an animated public awareness campaign highlighting the issue of inaccessible emergency cords in disabled bathrooms.
Red emergency cords are an essential safety feature required within public bathrooms. When pulled they signal an alarm to alert that the person inside is in need of aid. Due to a lack of public awareness a concerningly high amount of these strings are tied up, cut, or tangled on grab rails as featured in the video. This issue has directly led to many disabled people being left trapped and vulnerable on the bathroom floor after having fallen or experienced a medical event.
Always In Reach aims to educate the public in a way that is lighthearted and digestible with the hopes to make public disabled bathrooms safer for all.
